"I had just moved to Okmulgee and switched to State Farm after being with the same insurance agent for more than 20 years, so I may have had higher expectations for customer service than what I received.

To be fair, Jordan was quick to provide quotes and promptly made any changes I requested to my policies. Unfortunately, my experience after the policies were issued was very different.

When I applied for homeowners insurance, I specifically told Jordan that I was in the process of renovating the home. She told me she would let underwriting know this and that it should not be a problem

Less than 30 days after purchasing the policy and paying my premium, I received notice that State Farm was canceling my homeowners insurance because of the condition of the property, including a boarded window and deteriorated siding (we were in the process of siding the house and covering the window with siding). What disappointed me most was the lack of communication. I never received a call from Jordan to explain the situation or discuss my options. In fact, I initially thought the cancellation notice might be a scam because no one from the agency contacted me. I had to call the office myself to find out what was happening.

I was also disappointed with the auto insurance process. My quote included a Drive Safe & Save discount, but the program was never explained to me. I was simply given a quote and asked for payment. I believe customers should understand what discounts are being applied, how they work, and that participation requires using an app.

I understand that underwriting decisions are made by State Farm and not by the local agent. However, I believe the value of having an agent is communication, guidance, and advocating for customers when problems arise. Based on my experience, that level of service was missing. Had someone simply picked up the phone to explain the cancellation and discuss possible options, my opinion of this agency might have been very different.

Because of this experience, I canceled my auto insurance as well and moved my coverage elsewhere."
